    I’ve tried quite a few scratch art kits over the years, and this one really stands out for its quality. The colors underneath the black coating are vibrant and beautiful, and I especially liked having several different tools to choose from. It’s a little more expensive than some other options, but the quality makes it feel worth the price.

    I completed one of the designs and was really happy with how it turned out. The paper held up well, and I didn’t have to press too hard to remove the gray coating. Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable experience, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys this type of art.

    How does the scratching actually work?

    Each sheet arrives matte black with faint grey guide shapes printed on it. The top layer scratches off along those shapes and the copper, orange and gold foil underneath comes through. The black areas stay black — that is what holds the picture together.

    Dry black flecks only. No ink, no dust, nothing sticky. They brush straight off the table.

    40.5 by 28.5 cm, or 16 by 11 inches. That drops into a standard 12 by 16 frame. Frames are not included.
